The Good Shepherd

Yesterday's gospel left me with three thoughts for business owners.

"I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep." How committed are you to the success of your client. Will you protect them? Will you do what's necessary even if it makes you uncomfortable?

"He who is a hired hand and not a shepherd, who does not own the sheep, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and flees, and the wolf snatches them and scatters them. He flees because he is a hired hand and cares nothing for the sheep. " Ah! The difference between an employee and you, the owner. It's your name on the door. It's your reputation that's ruined if one of your clients fails under your direction.

"I am the good shepherd. I know my own and my own know me." Isn't this the essence of a persona? We know who we're looking for and we know who they are looking for?

BTW, if you want to read the passage, it's John 10:11-18.
