If 6% Succeed Every Time, WBY?

How many salespeople start with a clear vision for success? Success for your customers, colleagues, partners, family. Maybe even a chance to make the world a little better! BAAAAAAH. You stumbled in to it?

You grind. Early mornings. No lunch. Late nights. Then you wake up and realize it is not working. You can't book a meeting. You get treated like a sales rep. Marketing and SDRs are not delivering. The product is not what you hoped. Colleagues lose confidence. Some get fired. Some quit. Others celebrate 75% attainment like it is a win.

But you tell yourself it's just your place. The grass is greener. Hmm, job hopping looks bad? That's risky? Your partner knows you're not having a lot of fun and it all piles on... Did I pick wrong? Is it me? Am I cut out for this? Why is my manager not someone I wanna be? Why do I feel that lump in my throat and knot in my stomach? Am I accepting being mediocre?

The stats do not lie:

  • 6% succeed every time

  • 70% will get fired in a layoff, hit with a PIP or eaten by AI

  • 24% accept being mediocre or decide "I HAVE to change" and join the 6%

That last group is where the hope lives. They refuse to quit, refuse to be average, refuse to get fired.

From the introductions that Rick has made from his clients, there are remarkable humans.

Today an exec turned investor was telling me about one of them. He said:

“BIG fan. Smart. Humble. Great. Good dad and husband.”

WOW that's cool. Make me wanna ask you:

-- When your kids or future kids look at you, do/will they see someone winning, someone happy, and someone who is truly there for them?

-- Would your career make your Wife/GF/BF/Husband proud... not just of what you earn, but of who you are and how you show up?

-- Would it possibly, maybe, have you ever thought about, perhaps putting your ego aside and seek someone who has helped people change their lives just to at least see if you are willing to do what it takes to become... "Great"?

You can always go back to how you are right now and you might have even learned something!
