"i'm in GTM"

Have you seen at OpenAI that what looks like “salespeople” have the title “GTM”?

Sidenote: Ilya Sustkever alleges Sam Altman exhibited "a consistent pattern of lying"...

What does that mean? Go To Market? If I’m the customer, am I the market?

Are they coming for me?! Or just coming to me?

Anyway, everyone else is an "AE"?

What on earth is an “Account Executive”? Is it to take the smell off of “Salesperson”?

What about people that try and perfume themselves as “Consultants?” Cowardice?

Doesn’t a consultant want to keep themself in a job as long as possible? What's the difference?

Aren’t the real salespeople at consulting or even law firms called “partners” or “directors"?

What do you think? How does your job title affect you, your confidence or your intention?

What do buyers think? Do they even care? What do they call you in the Slack channel with their people?

What does your Spouse say when her friends ask her: "what does he do?"

"Salesguy"? What about your Mum to her Zumba friends?

It is an injustice to me that there are people called salespeople who:

>>> Reinforce the stigma (not through malice but incompetence and lack of self-awareness)

And there are people called salespeople who:

>>> Take full responsibility for their clients’ results, under promise and over deliver

>>> Are experts and excellent in all the professional selling competencies

>>> Get the ultimate client thumbs-up of referrals coming in

In Junto, we call the last bunch Rainmakers.

Do you care which side you’re on. Do your customers? Would it matter to the people that matter to you?

Any "Nos", Thanks for stopping by. You can leave now.

All yeses? Answer survey questions about your professional selling competencies and think about how you compare with your team, your industry and two million other sellers. Here

You’ll learn if you’re average, good, great, or just another sales rep hiding behind a title.

Or if you want to see what a report looks like then spice up your life and experiment? Don't ask don't get.
