RainMaker Maker or Deal Whisperer?

I helped one of my clients close a $250K deal last week.

Got me thinking.

So what? Perspective.

My client's $250K deal is pretty insignificant when compared to the list of GNP's above or the $13 trillion listed in the Fortune 500, but to him, it's 1/12th of what he needs to earn $1 million dollars in 2022. That's pretty significant to his world. That's his perspective. His world is rocking!

Here's what you need to know. Before he hired me he talked to people that he knew that knew me. He wanted me to make him a better salesperson, a rock star, a rainmaker. At first we talked about his SalesDNA, his sales skills, his goals, desire and commitment to do whatever it takes and he listened and tried to understand, but then we started talking about the deals in his pipeline as well as putting more deals in his pipeline and now we're here!

Typical engagement with me is 40-50 conversations. Sometimes we talk about sales competencies, but the most productive conversations are about how your competencies are affecting your deals.
