I, like you, probably spent at least some of the past weekend remembering 9/11. I also listened to some 'talking head' comparing the patriotism created by 3,000 American lives lost that day and the lack of a similar effect by the 700,000 American lives lost to Covid, but that's not what this is about.
If you haven't been following since the beginning, it might help if I shared a few old articles.
Did you know that I retired in 2011? Whenever Don Battis introduces me, he always says, "This is Rick Roberge. He and I are both retired, but neither one of us is very good at it." The fact is that my wife asks when I'm gonna retire and my answer is always the same. "When it stops being fun or when people stop calling."
So, I hope you read Sales Retirement because that's what this article is all about. My father-in-law was a regular guy, but he gave me a piece of advice about 'going for it' that served me well and I shared 15 years ago. Last year, in the middle of Covid, this guy called. It was his time. Hear Bill? "Woulda. Coulda. Shoulda." vs being a millionaire.
So, what's the relevance of 9/20/2021? That's the last start date of the year. I've worked with hundreds of reps since 12/29/11. This may be your time.
